نَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ‏

Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will return.

Engro is deeply saddened to share the untimely demise of Mr. Shahzada Dawood, Vice Chairman, Engro Corporation, and his beloved son, Suleman Dawood.

Mr. Dawood joined the Engro Corporation Board in 2003 and in his 20 years of service, he led Engro from strength to strength. He was immensely proud of the work Engro was doing to help solve Pakistan’s most pressing issues and always pushed the envelope on innovation. He cared deeply for Engro’s employees and those who met him and worked with him can attest to his humility and openness to new ideas.

His love for Pakistan and its people shone through time and again. As Trustee of The Dawood Foundation, which includes Dawood Public School, Dawood College of Engineering, and Karachi School of Business and Leadership, he supported numerous education initiatives. As Trustee of Engro Foundation, he promoted human development interventions across Engro’s value chains, and believed strongly in inclusive business models that develop low-income communities to maximize social and economic impact.

We are very grateful for the concern shown by our colleagues and friends during this unthinkably difficult time for the Dawood family. We would like to request everyone to respect the privacy of family and pray that the departed souls rest in peace.
