Engro Foundation celebrates unsung heroes of Pakistan

The CSR arm of Engro has launched a digital competition to honor efforts of individuals who are impacting life of marginalized communities in the spheres of education, health and livelihoods

Karachi, September 17, 2012: Engro Foundation, the CSR arm of Engro Corporation Limited, launched a digital competition to recognize the efforts of Pakistani individuals and institutions that continue to impact life for the under-privileged in the sphere of education, health and livelihoods.

The objective of the digital competition is to honor the efforts of individuals and organizations doing commendable social and humanitarian work and learn about their best practices and innovative ideas. Individuals can send in personal stories/nominations via email which will then be judged by a jury panel.

Tahir Jawaid, SVP HR & Public Affairs – Engro Corp, commented on the activity and said: “Engro Foundation firmly believes in investing in Pakistan’s human capital to change the face of the communities and make these individuals agents of a wider and more meaningful change. Through this digital activation we aim to reaffirm this commitment and inspire a lasting change today by celebrating the outreach of many individuals that continue to work in the social and humanitarian sphere for creation of a better Pakistan.

Winners for the competition will be selected on the basis of the scope of their social work; level of impact, number of beneficiaries and the ability to replicate the program amongst other key considerations. The Award recipients will be announced by December end.

All entries must be submitted to feedback@engro.com by November 15, 2012. Details about the program can also be accessed on Engro Foundation’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/engrofoundation.).
