Asad Umar, President & Chief Executive, Engro Corporation Limited, has received the prestigious Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) Award of Excellence for 2009. The award is in recognition of Mr Umar’s contributions to the field of Marketing & Management, and for his role in Pakistan’s economy as one of the country’s foremost corporate leaders.

An IBA alumnus, Asad Umar started his career with HSBC, Pakistan and joined Engro in 1985. During his years with Engro, Mr Umar has worked with distinction in all major divisions of the Company, both in Pakistan and abroad.

Mr Umar took over as President and Chief Executive in 2004, and under his leadership, the Company has grown into one of Pakistan’s largest conglomerates, with a diversified portfolio, which includes fertilizers, foods, energy & power, PVC resin, chemical handling, & storage, industrial automation and trading.

The Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) aims to enhance the appreciation of the marketing discipline, and to provide a forum to Pakistani marketers for interaction with fellow professionals and development of a voluntary code of ethics.
